Who We are
Fellowship in Action is a grassroots non-profit founded in 2022 by friends from the food industry. What started as snack bags for one elementary school has grown into a movement bringing joy, care, and connection to underserved people in our neighbourhoods.
Through monthly snack bags and essential-item donations, we support teachers, facilitators, students, and participants — and give volunteers and donors a meaningful way to show up for their community.

School Snack Bag Program
Every snack counts
When we learned that some students were coming to school hungry, we created the School Snack Bag Program: small, nutritious snack bags that give kids the energy they need and a moment of connection together.
We began with Verdun Elementary School, providing monthly bags filled with an apple, a Bear Paw cookie, and a juice box
This small act has created a big impact of more than 8,000 snack bags served since 2022 across 3 different schools.

Outreach Program
Through grass-roots community outreach, we connect with schools and organizations facing food insecurity to expand the reach of our snack bags. Currently we serve multiple schools across Montréal and Montérégie donating 700+ snack bags per month.
Currently includes Verdun Elementary School in Montréal, École secondaire Monseigneur-A.-M.-Parent in Saint-Hubert, and Christmas Park Elementary School in Beaconsfield.
Volunteers
Our dedicated volunteers are the backbone of our initiatives, helping with donations, sourcing food, preparing the snack bags, delivery, and expanding our reach. Together, we work to make a difference in our local community.

How you can help
Fellowship in Action runs entirely on community generosity. Since 2022, our snack bags have been funded by our members, along with one-time donations from family and friends. Now incorporated in Québec and pursuing charitable status, we are expanding our ability to support more schools and programs.

A little goes a long way:
Each snack bag costs just $1.00 to prepare — including an apple, a Bear Paw, a juice box, and the bag itself. Your support helps us cover ingredients, transportation, packing, delivery, and the essential administrative costs that allow us to keep growing.
Whether through a donation, volunteering time, or sharing our work with others, you can help us create more moments of joy, care, and connection across our neighbourhoods.

What teachers are saying
"Nous sommes persuadés que votre don fera une réelle différence pour nos élèves. Merci beaucoup d’avoir apporté une différence pour nos élèves."
— Mélanie Fortin, TES Accueil
English translation:
"We are convinced that your donation will make a real difference for our students. Thank you so much for bringing such a positive impact."
Why Snack Programs Matter
Food insecurity affects thousands of people across Montréal and Québec — including many students, newcomers, and underserved adults. For families already stretched by rising housing costs and the high cost of living, even small food supports can make a meaningful difference.

Research shows that regular access to snacks can improve concentration, behaviour, and wellbeing in children and teens. For newcomer students, who often carry the added cognitive load of learning a new language, a reliable snack can help them stay focused and feel included.

But snack bags aren’t only about food — they create moments of connection.

-
A child or adult gets to share a snack with their group and feel cared for
-
A teacher or program facilitator gets a small moment of relief and joy in their day
-
Volunteers and donors get a chance to take action together for an underserved need
These small monthly gestures help reduce stigma, promote equity, and strengthen the sense of belonging in classrooms and community spaces.
